From a young age, Maya was interested in the arts. She took classes in singing, acting, and dance, learning all that she could in order to pursue her dream. When she was nine years old, Maya noticed that some of her friends from class weren’t attending anymore and discovered that in some cases it was due to the cost of the classes. That’s when she decided to start Hearts of Maya, a non-profit, 501c3 foundation that “provides educational scholarships to youth who want to pursue the arts, specifically music, acting, and/or dancing. Through this foundation, Maya hopes to not only assist talented youth but encourage others to ‘Find the ART in their HeARTS.’”

The fashion show featured several Hearts of Maya scholarship recipients as well as KidBiz clients and special friends. The show opened with Maya’s own “Shades of You” which has the beat and energy that perfectly matches the bright and fun KidBiz vibe. I think it’s safe to say everyone had a blast watching our amazing models strut their stuff on the runway in brands like Mia New York, Hatley, Under Armor, Terez, Vintage Havana and more!
